A group of firefighter apprentices from across Manchester will be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to raise money for a local hero’s bereaved family.
Daniel Lee, a firefighter and ex-marine, died last month following a night out with his colleagues from the fire service. The 41-year-old Agecroft Fire Station watch manager went missing in the early hours of Monday (August 22) in Manchester city centre and was found in the River Irwell three days later.
Daniel leaves behind his devastated fiancée Simone and four children. The 'valued' firefighter, known as Dan to his colleagues, had served in the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) for 16 years.
