Fire crews are tackling a blaze at a derelict building in Oldham tonight. The fire broke out at the two-storey building on Meek Street in Royton just after 6.30pm.

Four fire engines are currently at the scene, a spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said. A cordon is in place around the area.

Pictures and videos show a huge plume of smoke from the fire billowing into the air. People who live nearby are being urged to keep their windows and doors shut.
