Sarah Ferguson once made a telling remark about the Royal Family during an interview with Oprah Winfrey. The Duchess of York, commonly known as Fergie, took part in a sit-down with the legendary US TV host as the royal looked to rebuild her life following her split from ex husband Prince Andrew.

Fergie, now 63, was married to the Duke of York for 10 years before their divorce in 1996 and they had two daughters together - Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.

You fell in love and married a man, and then you have to come to terms with the fairytale. Now it's not a fairy tale, it's real life." The Duchess of York went on to discuss how she fell foul of the strict rules while living at Buckingham Palace - including being told off for opening the windows too much.
