Falkirk visitor centre gets early licence to help tourists buy Kelpie souvenirs

The Helix Visitor Centre in Falkirk has been given permission to sell alcohol from 10am every day to help tourism. Members of Falkirk Council 's licensing board agreed the change after hearing it was to allow tourists to buy souvenirs that contain alcohol.

The board heard that some visitors have had to be refused when they were trying to buy souvenirs from the gift shop and while it is not a common occurrence, it does happen.
