Police have issued a warning after a group of young people were spotted climbing onto a signal gantry over train tracks in Salford.
The children were spotted climbing the structure on Sunday (March 12) afternoon, police said. They had scaled the signal gantry near the New Moss Road overbridge in Cadishead which runs over the Manchester to Liverpool railway line.
Police said this was 'extremely dangerous' with trains travelling up to 85 miles per hour below. Officers said they 'are looking to support the community to prevent further incidents taking place' as they urged parents to highlight the dangers of 'using the railway as a playground' to children.
