Scots have been basking in scorching weather this week as today saw the west of Scotland boast the highest temperature in the whole of the UK.The Met Office forecast that parts of the country would hit 25C, hotter than any other day of 2023 so far.

And although it's set to remain warm for most of this week, temperatures are set to drop below 20C once again before the week comes to an end.

However, the slight dip in temperatures won't last long as it's set to reach 20C in the west once again this weekend in another warm spell that continues into next week.

Met Office weather maps show that on Friday, June 2, it won't get warmer than 19C anywhere in Scotland or elsewhere in the UK, as it has done for the past couple of days.Again, the west of Scotland will see the highest temperatures, whereas figures are peaking at 13C further north and 11C in the east.
