A FORMER EastEnders favourite has blasted the BBC soap for what they deem "far fetched" plotlines that "normalise violence." Cheryl Fergison, 57, who played Heather Trott for five years, fell victim to one such incidence of violence on-screen as her character was killed at the hands of Ben Mitchell.
The actress, who left Albert Square in 2012, told Daily Star the BBC One show had become "ridiculous." She said: "I am not the morality police but I do think EastEnders has lost its way a little. "I think people are craving for something more relatable and familiar rather than sensationalised." She added: "I remember when Arthur Fowler nicked the Christmas fund was big news.

I think it is normalising violence to younger people." The actress then revealed her desire "to educate people on sensitive storylines." Last month, Cheryl looked worlds away from her character as she stepped out for a day out.
