Elton John
Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the United States, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 singles, four of which peaked at number two and nine of which reached number one. His tribute single "Candle in the Wind 1997", rewritten in dedication to Diana, Princess of Wales, sold over 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US singles charts. He has also produced records and occasionally acted in films. John owned Watford F.C. from 1976 to 1987 and from 1997 to 2002, and is an honorary life president of the club.
Justin Bieber
Justin Drew Bieber (born March 1, 1994) is a Canadian singer, songwriter and actor. Encountered at 13 years old by talent manager Scooter Braun after he had watched the boy's YouTube cover song videos, Bieber was signed to RBMG Records in 2008. Bieber's debut EP, My World, released in late 2009, made Bieber the first artist to have seven songs from a debut record chart on the Billboard Hot 100.

Being a Brit is usually a rather sad affair when you're watching the Eurovision Song Contest, especially in recent years. If the competition isn't cancelled because of a global pandemic, chances are the UK won't make it into the top half of the scoreboard - even if we have every faith in our entry that year.

After the heartbreak of watching James Newman come last with a gutting score of zero points in 2021 - and not getting to even compete the year before - those Eurovision fans among us are hoping that this year's competitor, Sam Ryder, has better luck with his song 'Space man'. Born in Essex, Sam began singing when he was a child and is said was inspired to pursue a career in music after he saw Canadian rock band Sum 41 live in concert, MTV reports.

Sam rose to prominence on social media platform TikTok, posting covers of popular songs during the first lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020.
