Erik ten Hag is unlikely to be calling on the advice of his Manchester United predecessor Ralf Rangnick too often, after insisting his consultancy contract was now a matter for club bosses.
Rangnick's spell as interim manager has been a disaster, with just 11 wins in 29 games in charge, but having ended his spell in the dugout he now has a two-year consultancy contract at Old Trafford.
That is likely to focus on recruitment advice from the 63-year-old German, who is set to begin as head coach of Austria now his United commitments have ended. But asked if he felt Rangick's role as a consultant was going to be valuable now his spell as manager had ended, Ten Hag responded: "That is on the club." Rangnick has been critical of United during his time in charge and recently suggested they needed as many as 10 new players this summer.
