Elizabeth II
Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary; born 21 April 1926) is Queen of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms. Elizabeth was born in London, the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York, later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and she was educated privately at home. Her father ascended the throne on the abdication of his brother King Edward VIII in 1936, from which time she was the heir presumptive. She began to undertake public duties during the Second World War, serving in the Auxiliary Territorial Service. In 1947, she married Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, a former prince of Greece and Denmark, with whom she has four children: Charles, Prince of Wales; Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.

SOAP fans will have to wait before they can catch up with their favourite dramas as ITV and the BBC altered their schedules.

Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders have been pulled off the air tonight in favour of Her Majesty The Queen's funeral.

The broadcasters have made the decision to cancel their shows once again to bid a final farewell to the Queen. ITV cancelled both of its iconic soaps - respectively aired at 7.30pm and 8pm on a Monday - alongside all shows on Monday, September 19, 2022, to broadcast the sovereign's funeral from 6am until midnight.

Programs that have been put on hold include The Chase and Real Housewives of Cheshire. This is reportedly the first time ITV agrees to air the same single broadcast across its entire network, meaning the Queen's funeral will also be shown on ITV2 and ITVBe.
