Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar has praised Erik ten Hag for the 'massive job' he did at Ajax before making the move to Old Trafford in the summer.

Ten Hag replaced interim manager Ralf Rangnick in the Reds hot-seat - becoming United's fifth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.

During his time in the Netherlands, Ten Hag won three Eredivisie titles, the Dutch Cup and Dutch Super Cup. The 52-year-old also guided Ajax to the semi-finals of the 2018/19 Champions League, where they came within a minute of making the final, only to be denied by a remarkable Tottenham comeback.
