An EasyJet flight that took off from Glasgow was forced to divert after declaring a mid-air emergency onboard. The Airbus A320-214 took off from the Scots airport at around 9:20am on Thursday morning for Birmingham.
But shortly after takeoff the aircraft began squawking alert code 7700 - declaring a medical emergency situation onboard. The plane reached near Dumfries when it was forced to turn around and head back to Glasgow.
It's understood that flight has now landed back at Glasgow Airport.EasyJet has confirmed the reason behind the emergency was that a passenger who required urgent medical attention.An EasyJet spokesperson said: " EasyJet can confirm that flight EZY511 from Glasgow to Birmingham has returned to Glasgow due to a passenger
