Sam Womack has shared the devastating news that she's battling breast cancer.The former EastEnders star, who starred as Ronnie Mitchell on the popular BBC soap, took to Twitter to share the news alongside of photograph of her next to the late Olivia Newton-John.The Grease actress had been diagnosed with cancer 30 years ago, and passed away yesterday, Monday 8 August.
Sam wrote: "This was the most magical of evenings. Olivia and Chloe had come to see Grease in London and we had dinner together afterwards.
I was so excited and in awe, she was my childhood. I now start my own battle with this disease and am left feeling deeply moved." It's thought the snap of Sam, Olivia and Chloe [Lattanzi] was taken in 1993 when Sam had played Sandy in the West End production of Grease.
Olivia's husband John Easterling announced the news of Olivia's passing on her official Facebook page, and said that she had passed away peacefully at her Southern California ranch in the early hours of Monday, after battling cancer on and off for 30 years.The statement read: "Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends.
