Michelle Collins revealed she was once "violently sick" during lockdown after accidentally eating a daffodil thinking it was a spring onion. The former EastEnders star, 60, appeared on Thursday's Good Morning Britain to talk about calling for free meals in every primary school for every child.

However, chat soon turned to Michelle's social media activity after she made a food confession on her Twitter on Wednesday night. The actress retweeted a news report about how a supermarket store was "sorry for displaying daffodils alongside veg".To which Michelle added: "Exactly what happened to me I ate one thinking it was a spring onion!

I was violently sick after." Elaborating on the story on Thursday's Good Morning Britain, the soap star said: "Well I was doing these very silly cooking videos in lockdown and I was doing a stir fry. "I went to the supermarket and brought home, what I thought, was a spring onion. "Cooked it, chopped it up, put it in the wok, had a few tastes, the next thing - I was running to the loo and was violently, violently sick." To which host Ben Shephard said: "You made that mistake because they were close together, you mistook the daffodil for a spring onion!" It comes as Michelle originally revealed in February 2021 how she had mistook daffodils for spring onions.

Posting a video to her Instagram, she wrote: "#daffodils #springonions . Spot the odd one out !!! "I know everyone thought I was #crazy when I said I ate #daffodils but it’s quite easy to do ! #poisonous #surviver.
