East Kilbride MSP raises road safety fears after pedestrian killed on busy road

An MSP has called for action to improve road safety on a busy dual-carriageway following a fatal accident in East Kilbride.Enquiries are ongoing into an accident on Friday evening on the A725 Kingsway on the northbound carriageway between the Whitemoss and Whirlies roundabouts.A 50-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a Volkswagen Golf and was pronounced dead at the scene, with a 40-year-old male driver arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
