East Kilbride boss demands 'dominating' show against Colts

East Kilbride boss Mick Kennedy has told his side to put in a dominant show against Cumbernauld Colts as they go into a crucial stage of the season.Kennedy reckons the period over January and February will be pivotal in his side’s quest to secure the Lowland League title and a shot at the League two play-off.John Doyle brings his Colts side to K-Park desperate for points in their basement battle.But Kilby have their own targets, and Kennedy is keen to get started in 2025, having seen their clash at Albion Rovers frozen off last weekend.Kennedy said: “We’ve got a big month, with Queen’s Park in the SPFL Trust Trophy semi-final as well, so we just need to concentrate on getting ourselves to a point, with maybe five or six games to go, that we can start to look at where we are, and what a play-off potentially looks like.“We’ve got a good lead at the top, with games in hand against teams round about us, so we’re in a good position and we’re trying to get as many points on the board as early as we possibly can.“We’ve got roughly 14 games to go, so we’re over the half-way point.“I think January and February are always pivotal in terms of what the run-in will look like, and if we can come out of the next two months with as many points as possible we will be in a strong place.“There are probably seven games between January and February in the league.

That will leave us with six or seven games, and will determine how comfortable that looks.“We’re on a good run. I don’t know how many games it is unbeaten in the league, but we’re on a good solid run.“I don’t think we can take too many plaudits for that, I think that’s where you would expect us to be.
