DWP says millions will get £150 cost of living payment from today

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced that millions across the UK will soon receive £150 Disability Cost of Living Payments.

According to the government, around six million people will receive the one-off payment from today (September 20). The payment will be made automatically to people who receive certain disability benefits - with the majority of payments to be made by early October.

The payments made are part of the government's £37 billion package support which, according to the government, will see millions of households receive at least £1,200 this year to help cope with the rising cost of living.

The government has also stated that the £150 is intended to help disabled people with the rising cost of living while acknowledging the higher disability-related costs, such as those for care and mobility needs.
