DWP involved in new plans to make it easier for benefits claimants to access services online

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is to be part of a new plan to make it easier for all benefit claimants and members of the public to access online services provided by the UK Government through a new mobile app.

The plans, set out earlier this week by Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Steve Barclay, will mean that claimants and members of the public will no longer have to remember multiple usernames and passwords to access services on GOV.UK, including Universal Credit, Tax Credits, support for disabled family members and changing driver licence details.

There are currently 191 different ways for people to set up a variety of accounts to access different services on GOV.UK, with 44 different sign-in methods and it is hoped
