Callum Fordyce insists Airdrie still have aspirations of winning the League One title, despite being 10-points behind leaders Dunfermline. The Diamonds picked up just their seventh win in 16 games on Saturday when they edged out Kelty Hearts at New Broomfield, courtesy of Calum Gallagher's 70th minute strike. It gave sixth-place Airdrie a third win in four games and moved them to within two points of the promotion play-off spots.Dominant Dunfermline have opened up a seven point gap from nearest rivals Falkirk at the summit and the Diamonds have an even bigger mountain to climb, but Fordyce hopes that with Airdrie starting to get some momentum going their title hopes aren't a pipe dream. He said: "Getting consistency was always going to be massive for us and we tried to drill that into the players."We had it last year when we had that unbeaten run from January and it just becomes a snowball effect, where you know how things are going to happen each week."Things can change so quickly in football but we've got consistency going now in the last four games and it is great to see."There's obviously a long way to go and football is a mad game, but we've just got to remain positive and keep this run going."Asked if the target would realistically be the play-offs with Dunfermline having opened up a big gap, Fordyce said: "We've always got to have aspirations and high hopes to go for the league."Dunfermline are 10 points ahead of us but 10 points isn't a lot in this league."We've just got to keep pushing as hard as we can and finish as high up the table as we can."We've got to focus on the team above us, try and catch them, and just keep progressing and see where it takes us."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport,
