Coronation Street star and comedian Duggie Brown has died at the age of 82.The national treasure was seen on the soap playing the role of Ted Spear at the beginning of the year.
His character Ted was involved in a car collision after Faye Windass (played by Ellie Leach) hit him with her car while after leaving a New Year's Eve party.
At first, it appeared that Ted was in a stable condition after the crash as he was able to make it back to his flat, but later was found Ted dead in his armchair by Faye and Emma (Alexandra Marsdell).
Cannon and Ball star Tommy Cannon gave tribute to the actor after the news of his death. He tweeted: "Really sad to hear about the passing of Duggie Brown, Rest in peace pal, what a funny funny man- thinking of all your friends and family." Actor Neil Hurst, who stars in Sky's Brassic, tweeted: "Beyond sad to hear that my ol’ pal Duggie Brown has passed away. "One of my very first telly jobs was with Duggie back in 1997 and I was lucky to appear in so many shows with him since.
