A dog with 'nasty injuries' was found dead and dumped in a suitcase in a ditch. The body of the two-year-old dog, named Luna, was discovered by a member of the public in Skelmersdale on Thursday (May 4).

She was found in an unzipped suitcase and wrapped in an England duvet cover. Food bowls and a bed mat were also found. Luna, who was light brindle/ginger coloured, was found to be underweight and had injuries on her face. Luna was microchipped to an address in the local area near where she found, in a ditch on land near Birch Green Road and Forest Drive.

Her previous owners said they rehomed her to someone else about four to five weeks ago, but could not five further details. Anyone with information is now being urged to come forward.
