Hundreds of local councillors, elected mayors and police and crime commissioners will be chosen across the whole of England during today's votes.

The scale of Election Day, which has been dubbed 'Super Thursday', is much larger this year after polls due to be held in 2020 were postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Eligible voters will be able to cast their ballots at polling stations between the hours of 7am and 10pm. But do you need your polling card of a form of ID to vote?
