A disused patch of land in an Ayrshire town centre has been transformed into a stunning Christmas display. The site of the former of Burns House in Ayr has been brightened up by council garden crews in time for the festive season. We previously told how the grounds maintenance team paid tribute to war heroes with a touching poppy display in time for Remembrance Day.This week they have returned to the spot to work their magic again - this time adding a sprinkle of Christmas cheer.Decorative baubles have been emblazoned on the patch of grass, whilst Christmas trees have been added to create a lovely 'Christmas Woodland' effect.Their handy-work was shared again on the council's social media, with passers-by impressed by the work again. One resident said: "Lovely.
This wee space is bringing lots of smiles."Another praised the display for "looking so festive", they added: "Well done to South Ayrshire Council."A council spokesperson said: "Our Grounds Maintenance team are helping us all to get in the festive spirit and have transformed the former Burns House site at Burns Statue Square into a Christmas woodland."Don't miss the latest Ayrshire headlines –sign up to our free daily newsletter here
