Demolition work on Oldham's Hartford cotton mill resumes as historic building is to be torn down for housing

Don't miss a thing by signing up to the MyOldham newsletter here It has survived two World Wars and predates the Titanic, but the Hartford Mill in Werneth, Oldham is to live on no longer after demolition work resumed on the historic building this week.

The former cotton spinning mill was built in 1907 for the Hartford Mill Company Ltd and designed by Frederick Whittaker Dixon, an architect from Southport who designed a number of mills throughout the Oldham area.
