The deaths of two men in police custody are to be probed by a sheriff. Declan Gallacher, 24, became ill while being held at a police station in Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, in December 2018.Paramedics raced to the station but Gallacher, who was in a custody cell, could not be saved.
David Berry passed away while at Govan police station in Glasgow.Both deaths are set to be probed at a fatal accident inquiry at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
A fundraiser was launched in aid of Gallacher following his death which raised more than £3,000 towards funeral costs.Footballer Leigh Griffiths donated £500 to the fund after hearing he was a huge Celtic fan.
He posted on the JustGiving page: "From the boys at Celtic."A message on the fundraising page said: "Declan sadly passed away in a custody cell in a police station.
