‘Day Shift’ movie review: Jamie Foxx slays boring vampires

Where, we wonder, is the nuanced acting from “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”? Bud masquerades as a pool cleaner in California’s San Fernando Valley while actually making a buck as a union vampire hunter.
He slaughters the undead, rips out their teeth and sells them for cash. Not the sexiest plot, but there it is.Are we amused when Foxx knocks around a blood-sucking grandma?
Meh. Do I remember anything about Snoop Dogg’s character Big John? Not really. The run-of-the-mill action sequences with Foxx and Snoop are all rather gymnastic, but not notably vampiric.
