Dancing On Ice's head judges, the iconic duo Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, have opened up about the uncertainty surrounding the show's future.
As the ITV hit prepares for its New Year comeback, teaching celebs to glide across the ice, whispers in the TV world suggest that this 17th season could be its final bow due to dwindling ratings.
With the Olympic champions set to retire from performing, they'll grace the screen with their skating prowess this series, followed by a farewell tour next year before hanging up their skates for good.This departure could leave the show without one of its major attractions, although there's a chance the pair might remain as coaches and judges if the show goes on.
When quizzed about the show's longevity, Chris disclosed to the Mirror: "By the end of the series we'll know." Jayne, at 67, hinted at the show's precarious nature with: "It's year by year..." Chris, 66, expressed his desire for the show's continuation: "We would love the show to continue.
