Thomas Tuchel's strained relationship with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly reportedly started when the pair clashed over the club's pursuit of Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
The German coach was dismissed as Chelsea manager on Wednesday after the London club's surprising defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League in Croatia on Tuesday night.
Chelsea have made an underwhelming start to the season, losing three of their first seven matches in all competitions - despite spending close to £300m to bring in the likes of Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly. The report claims that the German felt irritated at having to justify his reasons for this to Boehly, who struggled to take no for an answer.
