Cristiano Ronaldo's old comments on his motivations have potentially shed light on his Manchester United future. On Saturday a report in The Times claimed that Ronaldo had asked United to accept a bid for him should a 'reasonable' offer be received for his services.
United have so far been adamant that Portuguese ace would not be leaving the club this summer. Ronaldo ended the 2021/22 season as the club's leading goal-scorer, notching 24 goals in all competitions and he seemed to commit himself to staying at the club by backing the appointment of Erik ten Hag.
Back in 2017, Ronaldo spoke about what motivates him as a footballer — and it perhaps points to where his future may lie.
