Jimmie Allen has been sued for sexual assault and abuse by a former member of his management team.The plaintiff, known as Jane Doe to protect her identity, alleges that when she was employed by Allen’s music company, Allen raped her and repeatedly subjected her to sexual abuse and harassment over a period of 18 months (as per Variety).Across two conversations with Variety, Doe claims she was manipulated and groomed by Allen into a sexually abusive and controlling relationship.

Doe is now suing Allen, as well as her former employer, Wide Open Music and its founder, Ash Bowers.In the civil lawsuit against Allen, Bowers and Wide Open Music, filed in May 11 in Tennessee, Allen is being sued for “sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, sex trafficking and emotional distress; Bowers and Wide Open Music are being sued for gross negligence and participating in a venture engaged in sex trafficking, among other counts,” as per Variety.In a statement to Variety, Allen denies the accusations and claims he had a consensual sexual relationship with his day-to-day manager.“It is deeply troubling and hurtful that someone I counted as one of my closest friends, colleagues and confidants would make allegations that have no truth to them whatsoever,” the musician said in a statement.“I acknowledge that we had a sexual relationship — one that lasted for nearly two years.
