Sean Wilson has said he didn't watch Helen Worth's Coronation Street exit after a decision on his return for the final scenes was reversed.
The 59-year-old star had been due to return to the ITV soap as Martin Platt and reunite with Helen's alter ego - and his character's ex-wife - Gail Platt for her departure from the cobbles but was left too devastated to tune in after the storyline was scrapped due to an unfounded sex assault claim against him.
He later revealed how his 'world was blown apart' by an allegation of indecent assault dating back 27 years. He told The Sun on Sunday that he received an email in August from Corrie bosses about the allegation, before attending a voluntary interview at Longsight police station on October 25.
The star said he was told by officers on November 21 that there would be no further action. In an update issued in early December, Greater Manchester Police confirmed the suspect had been released - and should any new information come forward, it will be considered.
