Norris, played by Malcolm Hebden, has been a key character on the cobbles since 1994 and he last paid a visit to the street in 2020.
During the emotional episodes, Ken Barlow received a text from Norris which said he had something important to tell him. After finally getting through on Norris' mobile, a paramedic answered as Ken discovered that Norris had collapsed with a suspected stroke as he, Rita Tanner and Mary Taylor headed to the hospital immediately to see him.
