Eddie Murphy

Edward Regan Murphy (born April 3, 1961) is an American actor, comedian, and singer.

Murphy was a regular cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1980 to 1984. He has worked as a stand-up comedian and was ranked No. 10 on Comedy Central's list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.

In films, Murphy has received Golden Globe Award nominations for his performances in 48 Hrs., the Beverly Hills Cop series, Trading Places, The Nutty Professor, and Dolemite Is My Name. In 2007, he won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor and received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of soul singer James "Thunder" Early in Dreamgirls.

'Coming to America' Sequel Moves From Paramount to Amazon

Coming 2 America may be coming to Amazon. The sequel to the classic Eddie Murphy comedy is in talks to jump from Paramount to the streaming-focused studio.

While a deal forComing 2 Americahas not yet closed, the two studios have previously brokered a deal for Michael B. Jordan starrer Without Remorse.

Paramount declined the comment on the deal, while Amazon could not be reached for comment. Coming 2 America would be the latest theater-bound movie headed to streaming amid continued theatrical closures due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Paramount sold Trial of the Chicago 7 and romantic comedy The Lovebirds to Netflix, while Tom Hanks WWII drama Greyhound jumped from Sony to Apple andClouds moved from Warner Bros.
