Long-term absentee Christopher Jullien is set to lead a host of Celtic injury returns following the winter break. The Frenchman hasn’t featured for the first-team in over 12 months after sustaining a serious knee injury against Dundee United.

Jullien underwent surgery and has been through a lengthy period of rehabilitation which has kept him sidelined for all of Ange Postecoglou ’s tenure.

But there now appears to be light at the end of the tunnel for the centre-back and he could be in line for game time against Hibs on January 17.Delighted Postecoglou told Celtic TV: "Chris has worked awfully hard."It's always difficult with those long term ones because it's hard to put an end date, but he's training and training well."Over the next couple of weeks we will get him involved in terms of playing some football, and hopefully he hits the ground running." There was also positive news overall for the Celtic squad with the likes of Jota, Joe Hart, Greg Taylor and James Forrest sidelined before the Premiership was halted.

Postecoglou added: "The boys are all at different stages of their recovery."Part of the reason that we wanted to get the three players in from Japan early was because it was evident we didn't have the strength in depth that we needed and the quality that we needed to rotate our team."I think quite a few of the players were carrying more of a load because we didn't have alternatives."They are all at different stages of recovery but we expect the majority to be up and available for when we resume, which will be great, because hopefully we have the depth now to deal with a very difficult period that is in front of us."
