Edward Christopher Sheeran, MBE (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. In early 2011, Sheeran independently released the extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project. After signing with Asylum Records, his debut album, + (pronounced "plus"), was released in September 2011. It topped the UK and Australian charts, reached number five in the US, and has since been certified eight-times platinum in the UK.
The album contains the single "The A Team", which earned him the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. In 2012, Sheeran won the Brit Awards for Best British Male Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards, where he performed the song with Elton John.
Christine Lampard has revealed that Jamie Redknapp gatecrashed Ed Sheeran's set at her star-studded wedding to Frank in 2015.The stand-in Lorraine host said the football pundit, who is her husband Frank's cousin, took the mic during the superstar's romantic performance and started rapping.
Revealing the impromptu duet, Christine told OK!: “We’re very lucky to be mates with Ed. He’s a big football fan. He’s a very, very good mate and he moved mountains for us to be able to be on our day, which we’ll never ever forget him for. "My dad drummed with him - and Jamie Redknapp got up and did a rap.” Christine, 42, wed Frank, 44, at St Paul’s church in Knightsbridge in a star-studded ceremony attended by their personal Cupid Piers Morgan who introduced the couple at the Pride of Britain awards in 2009.
Other stars in attendance included Frank's uncle Harry Redknapp, close friend Holly Willoughby and Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
Christine's father Frederick, who their 16-month-old son Freddie is named after, was a drummer in a band and played alongside Ed on the day.
