Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Cristiano Ronaldo after the Manchester United forward was said to have asked to leave this summer.
According to a report by The Athletic, Chelsea are keen to bring Ronaldo to Stamford Bridge. Ronaldo is said to be desperate to play Champions League football and so hopes to engineer a move away this summer.
The report adds that Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel is a long-term admirer of the five-time Ballon d'Or winner. While United refuse to entertain the thought that their talisman could leave, Ronaldo himself has yet to comment since reports of Chelsea's interest surfaced. According to a report by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, United were 'prepared' to pay a higher fee than Ajax to sign Bergwijn.
