Cheapest places to get petrol in Greater Manchester by borough as prices reach new record high

The average cost of petrol has once again reached a new record high, according to experts. Data firm Experian said the average price of a litre of petrol at UK forecourts reached a new high of 191.1p on Sunday.

A 5p per litre reduction in fuel duty implemented by the Treasury in March has not stopped prices from soaring. Furthermore, the government has failed to answer to demands for another cut to prices to help motorists.

It comes as AA president Edmund King warned that "crippling" pump prices could "stifle summer staycations" at a time when airports are struggling to cope with demands.
