Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Manchester United. The 19-year-old Irishman has yet to make his senior debut for the Old Trafford giants but has been impressive for the club’s under 23 side over the past 12 months.Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was alerted to McCann’s growing reputation at United and has monitored the teenager’s progress.

Now he’s keen to add him to the Scottish champions’ squad before the new season kicks off this weekend.Coventry-born McCann joined the Old Trafford club three years ago from Coventry City for a nominal fee.Rangers will have to pay United a fee for McCann, who still has 12 months of his current deal to run.

He represented England at under 16 level before declaring for Ireland for whom he played at the 2019 UEFA Under 19 Championship finals.
