Celebrity MasterChef before it actually aired. Tuesday night’s Christmas special episode saw comedian Judi Love crowned champion where she beat competition from Joey Essex, Neil Ruddock, Oti Mabuse and Su Pollard.

But minutes before the result was aired, the news programme revealed the winner. Later, Channel 5 News apologised for the blunder.

In a statement, Channel 5 News said: “We would like to say sorry for mistakenly announcing the winner of BBC1’s Celebrity Masterchef before it was revealed on the programme tonight. “Apologies to all fans of the show. ”However fans took the mistake graciously.

Among the comments, one wrote: “Any chance of revealing the lottery numbers in advance next time?”Video: The Final Tasting Menu From Dan Lee On.
