The man who failed to help Holby City star John Michie’s daughter after she took a drug overdose at a festival has had his manslaughter conviction overturned.
Ceon Broughton, 31, was found guilty of manslaughter by gross negligence after he failed to help John’s daughter, Louella Fletcher-Michie, after she overdosed on illegal party drug 2C-P at Bestival in 2017.
But, he has had his conviction overturned following a hearing, where three judges heard his case via a virtual hearing through the Court of Appeal in March.
During the appeal hearing earlier this year, Stephen Kamlish QC, who led Broughton's defence team, asked if jurors could have been sure that Louella would have lived even if she had received treatment in time.
