Celtic legend John Hughes given one last farewell as he's laid to rest

Celtic legend John 'Yogi' Hughes' funeral cortege was driven past Celtic Park following the Lisbon Lion's funeral.Hughes, who passed away in hospital at the beginning of August, following a short illness, was given a funeral service at St Mary's Church in Glasgow this afternoon.Supporters, Celtic club officials and former Rangers stars Billy Henderson, Bobby Lennox, Jim Clarke and Jim Chalmers were amongst those paying their respects.Green and white floral tributes were placed on the hearse as he was taken from the church and past Celtic Park for the last time.Former striker Hughes, who lived in Coatbridge, was 79, and was a regular at Celtic Park as a match-day hospitality host until very recently.Hughes scored 189 goals for Celtic between 1959 and 1971, and won seven Scottish league trophies, four League Cups and four Scottish Cups.A statement from Hughes' family read: "John 'Yogi' Hughes, age 79, passed away peacefully in hospital today, after a short illness."He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
