CCTV appeal after driver gets out of car and beats up female passenger whose 'hands were tied with rope'

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman whose hands appeared to be 'tied with rope' was beaten up in the back seat of a car.

The disturbing incident took place in Cheetham Hill on Wednesday night and was captured on CCTV. Police say they are 'concerned for the safety of the woman' and are appealing to anyone who recognises the car, pictured, to get in touch.

The attack happened at about 9.55pm on Wednesday, March 8, after a vehicle described as a dark-coloured SUV-type, believed to be a Seat Arona, pulled up at the side of the road on Alderglen Road at the junction of Deerhurst Drive Read more: Gary Lineker to step back from BBC Match of the Day presenting role amid Twitter controversy There were two men in the front of the vehicle and a woman sat in the back.

The driver got out the car and walked around to the rear passenger seat, where he opened the door and was seen to assault the woman and hurl abuse at her.
