CBS Reverses 'S.W.A.T.' Cancellation; Series Renewed For Season 7!

There’s a new update about the status of S.W.A.T. – and fans are going to love it! Over the weekend, the hit CBS series was cancelled after six seasons on the air, causing many fans and the stars of the show – specifically Shemar Moore – to be utterly confused about why it was axed. “It makes no sense,” he told fans on Instagram, after hearing of the decision. “We’re the best show on Friday night at 8 o’clock for CBS.

The last two years we’ve been killing it. We’ve done nothing wrong. We did everything that was asked for.” Now, there’s a brand new update – and the show is officially coming back for season 7 with 13 episodes! “We have listened to our viewers and their outpouring of passion for S.W.A.T.

and we have reached an agreement to renew it for a final season of 13 episodes to air during the 2023-2024 broadcast year,” Amy Reisenbach, President, CBS Entertainment, and Katherine Pope, President, Sony Pictures Television Studios, said in a statement.

The two added, “S.W.A.T. has aired for six seasons on CBS and garnered a devoted following. We are pleased that we found a way to bring it back and give closure to the show’s storylines and characters, which audiences deserve.
