Car on false plates left behind by men suspected of using 'keyless scanning' to get into vehicles - it's thought to have been used in burglaries

Wigan. Officers were called to Gauntley Gardens in Orrell, last night (Monday, January 25) following reports of 'men breaking into cars'.

Cops believe the men were using the 'keyless scanning entry' method to break into vehicles. When police arrived at the scene, the men ran off, leaving behind a white Nissan Juke on false plates.

Police said the car is the same as one stolen in Billinge a number of weeks ago.Officers also said that the car has been involved in a number of burglaries in Wigan over the last 'couple of weeks'.Tthe car will be forensically analysed.

A spokesman for the Wigan West division of Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers attended a report of males breaking into cars using the keyless scanning entry method.
