A suspect in a car chase went to desperate lengths to avoid police – by hiding in a freezing Ayrshire river.Police Scotland revealed some of the details of what happened, during an incident early this morning, in a post on its air unit Twitter page.North Ayrshire police were hunting two suspects in Kilwinning who had raced from a vehicle following a car chase.The police helicopter was subsequently drafted in as attempts were made to apprehend the individuals.However, what followed was certainly eyebrow-raising with one of the suspects bravely deciding to go for a chilly dip in the River Garnock with temperatures plummeting.A photograph taken from the chopper in the skies at 1.21am shows a figure in the water with what is believed to be a
