Campaigners call for safety measures on dangerous Lanarkshire road where woman was killed

Hundreds of Rutherglen residents have backed calls to introduce safety measures on a local road after a woman was killed in a tragic accident last week.

The 55-year-old was struck on Croftfoot Road last Thursday, around 6.35pm, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three years ago on the same stretch of road, which is on the border between South Lanarkshire and Glasgow, a car crash left four people injured.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

People use that to cross to go to the shops all the time, or take the kids to the school there. It's continually busy."The crossing just isn't safe without there being something to calm the traffic.
