Police are investigating after firefighters' kit was stolen from Atherton Fire Station as emergency crews raced out on an 999 call last night It is believed the culprits lay in wait until engines left on a call - then slipped into the building before the automatic doors closed.
A kit bag, yellow helmet, a fleece and other pieces of kit were stolen in the raid on Gloucester Street. Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or via our LiveChat at www.gmp.police.uk quoting incident 3112 of 19/01/22.
