'Brokeback Mountain' Play Heading to West End - 2 Lead Stars Revealed!
justjared.comBrokeback Mountain is heading to the West End. The stage adaptation of Annie Proulx’s best-selling novel, described as a play with music, will be staged at Sohoplace Theatre from May 10 for a 12-week season in London, England, via Deadline.
The play is based on the short story originally published in The New Yorker in 1997, and not on Ang Lee’s 2005 film that starred Heath Ledger, Anne Hathaway, Michelle Williams and Jake Gyllenhaal, producer Nica Burns noted.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie‘s Jonathan Butterell will direct. Dan Gillespie Sells will write some of the music, and singer-songwriter Eddi Reader will perform on stage with a country and western band.
