BrewDog chief James Watt shatters collarbone in mountain biking accident

BrewDog chief James Watt was taken to hospital after shattering his collarbone in a mountain biking accident. The CEO was in the heart of the Scottish Highlands planting trees with shareholders, dubbed equity punks, when he was injured.

Watt and fellow founder Martin Dickie recently bought the former Kinrara Estate near Aviemore for £8.8million. They plan to plant over one million trees as part of the company's commitment to sustainability.The 39-year-old shattered his collar bone in the estate over the weekend.

Posting on Twitter, he said: "Unfortunately I shattered my collar bone whilst mountain biking with Equity Punks in the Lost Forest this weekend. "Thanks to everyone who attended helped us plant the first trees in the Lost Forest."Just days ago Watt announced plans to live in the Lost Forrest off grid for two weeks and he expected to be joined by business leaders, CEOs and public figures, who would help him plant trees.Watt has been rocked by claims of toxic behaviour towards staff since last year and the firm was attacked in a damning BBC Disclosure documentary in January.The craft beer company is now the 16th largest in the world and last year reported revenue of £286million but the CEO has suffered allegations of personal impropriety, marketing scams, and a culture of growth at all costs.Watt has denied claims about misconduct and says while some other complaints about management were justified, some were falsely made just to financially damage the company.
