Tam McManus reckons that Brendan Rodgers has ditched his own advice at Celtic following their 6-0 rout of St Johnstone.The boss was bullish during his post-match debrief in Perth after watching his side smash six past the managerless Saints as he took aim at those who slagged their playing style last season.
The Hoops were criticised on their way to the Premiership and Scottish Cup in the wake of disappointing results that allowed Rangers back into the title race - including dropping points against the Perth Saints early in the campaign.But Rodgers fired back at the cynics after the demolition job: "Yeah, not bad for a team that doesn't play good football.
I think that's what we were told last year, wasn't it? I think that was the accusation. We were too slow and we didn't play football and we didn't score enough goals.
And so it's not bad for a team that's not playing good football.”But former Hibs striker McManus reckons that the boss should stick to his own "stay humble" advice - having encouraged his Celtic players to keep their feet on the ground in recent months amid a string of impressive displays.
